On the feast of Pentecost 2021, Archbishop Peter A Comensoli invited us on a journey of reimagining our local Church in Melbourne as a series of ‘mission communities’ taking up the call to embrace the ’path of missionary discipleship': Take the Way of the Gospel.
Over April and May 2023, four consultation sessions were held with parish clergy and lay leadership, one in each geographical region. The output of this first session, and the subsequent two rounds of consultation still to take place, will help inform the Take the Way of the Gospel parish guide and other resources to be developed.
The summary report from the 'Leading for Mission' consultations, which you can download below, captures the emerging themes running throughout these conversations.
Last night, the first regional session of second round of consultations 'Collaboration for Mission' took place in the Northern Region. Over the next few weeks, sessions will be held in the other three regions.
As we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost this Sunday, might we now continue to pray and discern as we reimagine how we might proclaim the Gospel anew in Melbourne today. Come, Holy Spirit.
